"Lively, inventive, authentic, and wise" are a few of the words used to describe Jane's presentations around the world from Sorrento, Italy to Moro, Oregon.  Whether part of a book signing or a fundraiser for various museums and causes close to Jane's heart, retreats or commencement addresses, Jane engages audiences to consider the power of their own stories.  "Until we find the meaning of the stories of our lives we're destined to wander in the wilderness even though we're in the promised land," she notes.  With humor she helps groups find the insights that bring wisdom and joy to their lives.  Blending her mental health background with years working on an Oregon Indian reservation with twenty-six years carving a life on a remote ranch, Jane finds a way for participants to experience the lessons of her historical characters and allow them to step from one generation to our own to bring healing and hope through the power of the written and spoken word.

Beachside Writers (with Author Bob Welch)

For nearly a dozen years, Beachside Writers(Yachats, WA) was a weekend of inspiration, where one could take in a breath and discover more about their inner writer. For many of those years, I taught with Bob Welch, founder of Beachside. I met fascinating people, encouraged writers wherever they were on that journey and found my own writing enhanced by the workshops I taught and the questions and comments received all weekend. Although a small venue, it was a place where everything that happened supported those on their writing journey.

Jane was a fantastic speaker for our dinner, she kept us entertained with fun stories and through those stories she wove an inspiring message of being “hardy” and what it takes to do that.  She left us wanting to hear more.  She was definitely the highlight of our convention!  If you’ve never read any of her books, after hearing her speak you want to pick one up and get started and if you’ve already read some of her books, you can’t wait to start the next one.

"I have never experienced such a workshop where I was pampered, validated for who I am, inspired and invigorated.  I even sent Roger one of writings that you suggested we do on Saturday and I wasn't ready to share at that time. Now that I know I don't have to be perfect , I am ready to roll as a writer. Thanks for your sharing and guidance,"

“What a great crowd you bring out! Thank you for being our author for our Title Wave program. The book chosen, your ability to talk about it to multi-generational audiences including the schools and seniors was a huge benefit. I appreciated your flexibility and good humor throughout.”
